Global Tracking Systems manufactures a patented, unique assembly-style plastic pallet that can be further integrated with C1G2 Passive RFID or Class-3 BAP RFID tags to monitor product identification, location, and condition information at the "pallet level."  GTS pallets have an industry leading strength-to-weight ratio, are durable and environmentally friendly.  Many different plastic pallet designs are available, including standard sizes and custom styles.  Our plastic pallet's assembly-style design allows us to quickly and economically manufacture pallets to suit each customer's unique requirements.

Our pallets feature the following design elements, which GTS believes results in a superior product compared to competing products in the market.
  • lightweight, weighing less than 28 lbs each; on average, 40% lighter than competing plastic pallets and 60% lighter than wood pallets
  • built with HDPE, ensuring durability and longevity
  • easily repaired as individual pieces can be replaced versus replacement of the whole pallet
  • edge-rackable up to 2,700 lbs load capacity, which exceeds GMA (Grocery Manufacturers' Association) standards
  • load bearing capacity: static (15,000 lbs); dynamic (3,500 lbs)
  • compatible with conveyor systems and automation line systems
  • safety: no protruding nails or broken boards to injure employees, damage equipment or products
  • hygienic: pallets do not absorb liquids, are easily cleaned with water, and are impervious to infestation and contamination

In this pilot program,
Class-3 BAP RFID tags were installed inside the cavity of the GTS plastic pallets in order to facilitate item-level tracking and monitoring of produce as pallets are shipped across multiple Hawaiian Islands.  For more information regarding this project, please see our case study.

Pallet pooling is environmentally friendly as plastic pallets are re-used, instead of being disposed of after shipment, creating a cycle of continuing sustainability.  In the U.S. alone, 40% of hardwood harvested is used to make wood pallets.  Deforestation reduces the world's ability to fight harmful greenhouse gas emissions.  The GTS Pallet Pooling Program is environmentally friendly: (1) GTS pallets can be reused 50-100 times in export pooling; (2) GTS plastic pallets are light in weight reducing overall fuel usage and CO2 emissions; and (3) GTS pallets are 100% recyclable.


Global Tracking Systems' Pallet Pooling Program allows customers to lease pallets for one-way export under a flexible, outsourced just-in-time management solution.  GTS will collect pallets from our customer's locations or its end users' locations; clean, inspect, sort and maintain the pallets; and finally, re-insert the pallets back into the pooling program for efficient asset utilization.  Our customers are not burdened with collecting, cleaning and inspecting pallets themselves, and thus, save on the cost of pallet collection, maintenance, repair and disposal.  This allows companies to concentrate on what matters most - the distribution of their shipped product from production to end-customers.

In today's modern logistics world, companies and their management teams are pushed to manage and secure an increasingly large number of assets spread over a large geographic coverage area.  The ability for a management team to successfully track and trace their shipped product and assets has large implications for both operational efficiency and the effectiveness of their logistics system.  Limited visibility of a company's assets, and potential theft and damage to shipped product is simply not an option anymore.  GTS plastic pallets can be embedded with either C1G2 or Class-3 BAP RFID tags (and a corresponding unique identification code) to increase overall visibility into a company's logistics system.  Information from the RFID tags can be read and analyzed on the spot (including sales order information, identification details, pallet-level temperature and humidity data, and waypoint history, etc.), or the information can be relayed to our web-based logistics portal for real-time, remote monitoring by management teams in different locations across the world.
